Community
  • Arts & Crafts: Contact your local charity to assist in or coordinate an Arts & Crafts class for community members.
  • Charity: Contact your local charity for a variety of opportunities that would benefit your community. Many charities are in desperate need of excellent, committed and reliable volunteer forces that can be counted on to support their work.
  • Council: Contact your local council to become involved in a service where volunteers make a commitment to beautifying council-owned parks and gardens. This may be in the form of undertaking landscaping or putting in flower-beds to an existing park.
  • First Aid: If you have the appropriate background and a current First Aid Certificate; contact your local sole-parent support group to become involved in a First Aid Class.
  • Furniture Restoration: If you are skilled in furniture restoration; restore old furniture and donate it to your local opportunity shop for resale.
  • Horticulture: If you are skilled in horticulture; contact your local hospital to become involved in their garden programs. Donating plants is another option if you are involved with or know of a local nursery or grow plants yourself.
  • Manual Arts: If you are skilled in manual arts; sew, knit or construct items of clothing or children's toys for your local opportunity shop.
  • Nutrition: If you are skilled in health and nutrition, consider starting an educational class/demonstration course for community members.
  • Opportunity Shops: Op-shops are always looking for volunteers to assist in their operations, or conversely contact your local opportunity shop to donate new or pre-loved goods.
  • Parks & Gardens: Contact your local Rotary club to discover how you or your family can become involved in restoring, maintaining or creating a local park and garden.
  • Schools: Contact your local primary school to become involved with a breakfast program, either on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Small Businesses: If you are skilled in small business enterprises; contact your local Indigenous community group and volunteer to assist Indigenous communities in the development of new businesses.
  • Sports Clubs: If you are skilled in a particular sporting area; contact your local sporting club to become involved with or to start a weekend sports program for disadvantaged children.
