- Arts & Crafts: Contact your local charity to assist in, or coordinate, an Arts & Crafts class for the homeless.
- Crisis Care: Contact your local Department of Community Services (DOCS) and apply to list your home as a transition place for children & young people in crisis. Alternatively, you might want to take on a longer-term fostering arrangement.
- Group Homes: Contact your local charity such as The Salvation Army and offer to look after the gardens of their local refuge or group-home for a set period of time.
- Local Produce: Contact your local charity and offer to collect fresh produce from your local bakery or patisserie that would otherwise be thrown out. Care must be taken with food that is indicated to be out of date.
- Soup Kitchens: Contact your local charity to become involved in a nearby soup kitchen or food supply service for the homeless or disadvantaged.
